Most days of the summer we wish for sunshine and heat, but sooner or later the rain will come whether we like it or not. Even though it is still hot, we need to protect ourselves from the drizzle. You can still wear your linen shirt and shorts, but you might want to add some of the following items to avoid getting soaked.
Rain coat
First of all, we want to point out that a rain jacket is always a suitable basic garment in the outerwear wardrobe. It might not be a jacket you need every day, but once the rain comes you won't regret investing in a good quality rain jacket that will keep you dry year after year.
Waterproof shoes
A pair of classic waterproof shoes can save you when you go out in the garden to remove the soaked cushions that you forgot about before the rain started. If you're heading out in the rain to walk your dog, a simple pair of trail shoes with water-repellent properties will do the trick.
Shell jacket
When you want to activate yourself outside in the rain, a shell jacket will be more practical and versatile than a heavier rain jacket. Look for a practical jacket that is water-repellent or waterproof and easy to pack into a bag when the sun reappears.
Trousers and Shorts
Have you ever been out in the rain, wearing your rain jacket, thinking that everything is fine, only to come inside and look down at your trousers to realise that they are completely soaked? A pair of rain trousers or shorts aren't just for the kids in pre-school or the outdoor enthusiast.
Accessories in the rain
The evolution of practical garments in recent seasons has resulted in a range of necessary and stylish accessories made for use on rainy days. From quality umbrellas to functional bags. Consider your needs and what you need the most when the rainy weather arrives. Maybe you are a commuter who needs a rainproof bag or a hiker who needs a cap that repels the rain when carrying an umbrella that is too bulky.
