How to style: The navy blazer
The blue blazer exudes timelessness. An iconic garment that has traversed style history from maritime culture to presidents and actors.

The classic blue blazer is available in both single-breasted and, as in the selected images below, double-breasted styles. A double-breasted blazer is a variation of the traditional blazer, characterised by its double row of buttons. Unlike the single row of buttons on a regular blazer, a double-breasted blazer has an overlapping panel on the front that fastens with buttons on each side.
Below, we have pieced together two combinations, both offering high comfort and demonstrating why the blue blazer is one of the most versatile items in a wardrobe.
Casual: Blue blazer and blue jeans
Two garments that effortlessly pair together are a pair of straight jeans and the blue blazer. This combination keeps you in the middle ground between casual and dressy, never leaning too far in either direction. This can be comforting when formalities aren't on the agenda. The blazer is made of a jersey fabric with an extra soft shoulder construction, which enhances comfort and provides increased mobility.
A knitted sweater worn under the blazer, preferably in cashmere or wool, continues to give a relaxed impression while the material adds a luxurious feel. The white t-shirt worn under the sweater may seem like an insignificant detail, but in fact, it is this element that adds the final touch as the colour contrasts against the jeans and sweater, much like an Oxford shirt can do. Opt for a pair of black penny loafers to contrast with the jeans, or a pair of sneakers for an even more casual look.
Smart casual: the blazer and light chinos
If, instead, you want to dress up your blazer, the shirt is an obvious choice for pairing. This lyocell shirt with a denim finish from the Swedish brand Eton is as soft as a pajama shirt but still has the structure needed to balance out the blazer's style level. A pair of light straight chinos and a pair of chukka boots from Drake's and Astorflex are safe bets for a timeless combination. Here, you can also experiment if you'd prefer a pair of brown loafers or derbys for a slightly more dressed-up feel. A belt and a watch complete the look. The light and pleasant colour palette is perfect for embracing the upcoming spring.
Double-breasted blazers provide an even more formal look compared to their single-breasted counterparts. They typically feature broader lapels and create a more pronounced silhouette. If the blazer doesn't fit well, it can feel too boxy, but it can also create a sleeker impression on a broader body shape. Depending on how you choose to style it, you can adjust the degree of formality.
